Wake-Up Time Calculator

Enter when you plan to get into bed. The calculator adds your settling buffer, then shows wake-up choices for three through six cycles. Each result includes the planned duration so you can compare it with tomorrow’s commitments. The options are schedule estimates and do not guarantee how rested you will feel.

Build tonight’s timeline

Sleep cycles vary from person to person and across the night. We use 90 minutes as a planning reference, not a measurement of your actual sleep stages.

  3. Aim to be asleep

Methodology

How to interpret this plan

How BedtimePilot calculates your plan

How we calculate

Start with the time that is fixed for tomorrow. The calculator works backward or forward using your selected planning duration, the time you usually need to settle, and a separate wind-down window.

BedtimePilot uses adjustable cycle timing as a planning reference. Actual sleep architecture varies by person and night, and this tool does not measure sleep stages.

Important limitations

Results are planning estimates based on your times and adjustable settings. They do not detect sleep stages and are not medical advice. Do not reduce your sleep opportunity just to match a cycle count. Seek professional care for persistent sleepiness or sleep-health concerns.

Use it in context

Two ways to apply the plan

A fixed morning

Set tomorrow’s wake-up goal first, then compare several planning durations without moving that goal.

A flexible morning

Start from when you plan to get into bed and compare the resulting wake-up choices before selecting one.

Questions

What to know before using the result

Is a sleep cycle always 90 minutes?

No. Ninety minutes is an adjustable planning reference here. Cycle length and sleep architecture vary by person and from night to night.

Does this calculator detect REM or deep sleep?

No. It creates a schedule from clock times and planning assumptions. It does not measure or detect any sleep stage.

Can I change the assumptions?

Yes. You can adjust the cycle reference, number of cycles, time to fall asleep, and wind-down duration before saving a result.
